Facilities Maintenance Technician – Temp to Hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr–$25.00/hr DOE

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a temp-to-hire position. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience, though it may also be trainable for someone with similar skills and a mechanical background. The most important qualification is the ability to troubleshoot large machinery; our facility includes two Italian CNC machines, three waterjets, and three-line polishers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform minor repairs on CNCs, waterjets, and line polishers.
• Address hazards or safety concerns promptly.
• Oversee regular maintenance to ensure optimal equipment operation.
• Maintain cleanliness and inventory of tools and equipment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests; coordinate with external contractors for major repairs.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety checks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Safe and proper use of equipment and tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from machine technicians.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and repair drawings.
• Dismantle/reassemble equipment as needed.
• Create solid foundations for machines and instruct construction workers on safe operation.
• Align and calibrate machinery/equipment parts.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Complete other assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications:

• Regular, predictable attendance and ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• Team-oriented with ability to build rapport and strong working relationships.
• Industry experience maintaining garage doors, forklifts, scissor lifts, welding machines, plate rolls, plasma tables, and facility infrastructure.
• Passion and enthusiasm for supporting and driving a high-performance team.
• Professional, dependable, and self-motivated with good time management and communication skills.
• Operate mobile equipment (fork truck, scissor/boom lift) upon successful training.
• Flexible with schedules; able to work overtime, weekends, or evenings as needed.
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Able to work independently.
• Punctual, reliable, and responsible.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with large machinery (Italian CNCs, waterjets, line polishers).
